Economy Minister hails democracy reinforcement in 10 years of peace


Luanda - The Minister of Economy said on Saturday that the country recorded significant steps for the consolidation, political stability, democracy reinforcement, national reconciliation and cohesion with the achievement of peace.





The minister also said that the 10 years of peace enabled the country to record great advances for the macroeconomic consolidation.





The official said so while addressing the theme “The gains for the country in ten years of peace” in the second national youth meeting, which took place at Luanda’s Belas tourist complex.





According to him, the Angolan executive has made progresses in the outlined objectives, having attained good macroeconomic performance.





The second national youth meeting happened under the motto “Informed youth, safe future” and it aimed to promote and divulge the great achievements of the Angolan government, in the framework of improving the youth and population’s living standards, as well as stimulate public debate and the discussion of the main problems that affect the young people.





The meeting also aimed to valorise the juvenile dialogue among several social and institutional actors, as well as sensitise the young people to actively participate in the process of peace consolidation, democracy reinforcement, national unity and cohesion.





The event was attended by the Minister of Welfare and Social Reintegration, João Baptista Kussumua, in representation of the Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, as well as by MPs of the National Assembly, officials of provincial governments and clerics.
